Brooklyn dollar van drivers. for the people or againts?

flicker
The New York city dollar van driver are very useful If you want to move quickly between home and school or between two jobs, you can't afford to wait 20 minutes for another bus. The NYC Van Lines which use to provide a cheaper service to some neighborhoods, have been permitted to run thought some parts of NYC. The NYC van lines started at just one dollar per customer, now runs for two dollar a person. Many civilians/customer that are use to using these service say that the fare increase is an out rage! although the van driver provide a faster service than the public transportation there are still a lot of flaws . such as loud and excise music, bad launage , and passenger don't get a transfer like they would when they pay two dollars on the MTA. Van driver claim that the raise in the fare was due to the rise of gas prices but now that the gas prices have went down why haven't the fare gone down ?, many of the van drivers are now saying that the reason for the two dollar fee also have to do with insurance, and tickets that they receive from the police. I feel that these van drivers know what they were getting them self into as far as dealing with the police that should not become the customers problem, they chose that type of job so the customer shouldn't have to pay for there problem. These driver have forgotten the reason why they started this business in the 1st place, it was for the people, to provide a cheaper faster way of getting around, But now they are competing with the MTA prices with no benefit.

  1. Yes Yani, I agree with, it seems that ones a product or a services goes up, the government does not act soon enough and the costumer is the one that suffer paying the higher prices specially went the gas prices are lower.

  2. In this current economic reccession, i only fear that these types of services, originally intended to help the community will only further exploit them. Without any type of oversight, i fear this type shenanigans will only continue.
